Re: When do you handle your Balls/Royals?

Don't do it too often, but usually handle mine in the evenings or when we have visitors.

I swear friends and relatives come over to see the BPs like it's a zoo. Need to start charging an entrance fee.

None of my relatives like snakes and a few are downright scared of them. It does make life easier this time of year b/c I never have to host family holiday gatherings, I just get told where to show up and what food to bring.

Yea, thankfully my family are ok in that respect. Also, most have younger kids who always gravitate towards the enclosures when they come over.

However, nothing beats just showing up and calling it a day. Less headaches for sure!

LOL. I feel the same way. Although everyone has their favorites in my collection (only one BP). Shayna (BP) is up there for sure though.

For what's worth, I handle during the day and evening. When the lights go out, Shayna is ready for food. Same with all my snakes. They are conditioned to eat at night. When I go in during the day, it's handling time. I do hook train my boas (3) and Carpet python, but if I still handle during the day. If I have to take a snake out at night, the hook is a necessity. They are all locked and loaded .

Re: When do you handle your Balls/Royals?

I will handle them at any time i can. I've held them during the day, night, dusk, dawn and evening. maybe it could be that i feed during the day, but the only time i find them in food mode is when they see me thawing a rodent or if it is the day that i usually feed them.
