My dumerils boa has been on amikacin for a couple of weeks now. She SOUNDS a lot better. At first she was gurgling and rasping majorly. Now, she just makes mostly a puff sound and a slight gurgle. However, I opened her mouth today and there was pretty thick slightly yellowish goo in there. Her gums look very healthy though, slightly pink, but no reddishness anywhere.
Does anyone know if snakes erm.. expel the goo from their lungs when the infection is leaving? Kinda like the last stage of a human cold? I'm going to call the vet anyway, but just looking for encouragment.. or advice. I have tough luck with sick snakes.
