    Trouble choosing snake? Thoughts?

I'm currently looking into purchasing a mystic potion, and the breeder has two that I'm interested in. However, I'm not sure how MPs colors change/develop, as I haven't really seen too many adults (outside of one lovely specimen that I've seen posted around these forums) I'd prefer one that has more of a dark grey/purplish hue, at least on the head and neck. But I know it can even vary among individuals.

Between the two I'm looking at, the male is much darker overall, with high contrast, and the dark colors seem to "leak" down from the top, while the female is more of an overall silvery gray with a dark head. I have pictures of both.

I guess what I'm asking is, what do you look for in a quality MP, and will a darker color in a juvenile fade into a gray/purple? I guess I'm just not sure how their color development works, as I've seen some that hold pattern and hues well, and some that completely gray out.

    I would ask the breeder.

I would also ask the breeder how much for the pair.

They're actually the same price. Female was originally higher.

First image is the male, second female

(These aren't my snakes, or my pictures)

They're both beautiful, but I may opt for the male

Honestly from the few I've seen, they were a lot more purple looking than these two as hatchlings and slightly faded to more of a lighter grey as adults. They definitely did not get more purple with age, they start out the most purple they will be as hatchlings and then you hope they hold the color as they age. If your hoping these will get more purple with age, I think you will be disappointed. Your best bet is to get one that is as close to the color you're looking for and then hope they hold it but most will change a bit with age. I have not bred for them myself though so you might want to ask a couple breeders that have ones you're interested in, how their line changes in color as they age.
