Jeff is doing well. He just shed and I took some pics. He is growing and filling out nicely, but is still a reasonable size.

    He continues to glow!

Jeff shed and is over 1.6kg now. He is doing great and still "glows."

Jeff had some fun with Katie. He was climbing all over her and thought her pocket was a good leverage point.

Re: Jeff Shemesh - VPI T+ Sunglow Motley Jungle het Anery

I got nailed by Jeff this week. Weird situation.

We had workman in the house (last time that happened Solana nailed me - I think it's a pattern) and I had shown them Behira and Yafe. No issues.

The guy who was really into the snakes seemed chill. I had let Jeff know we were there and there was no food coming (he is hook trained). He had his head a little out of the tank and I told the workman he could pick him up. He grabbed him quick and startled him and Jeff nailed me in the stomach. He was fine after as was I. I felt bad. Once I picked him up he was totally chill.

That is my 5th bite in 30+ years of snake keeping. Not too bad.

Despite Jeff getting a good hit, he didn't clamp down or anything. He just got scared and then realized it was okay. I was much more surprised than hurt.

I am not sharing to scare anyone but to point out that I've been keeping snakes for 30+ years and have had 5 bites (one wasn't even my snake) and none that were bad (like a feeding response bite that led to chewing etc. - that was the children's python who got me that wasn't mine).

Jeff is the biggest snake to bite me so far and I lived to tell to the tale.

Every one is entitled to bad day and snakes are no exception.

I think this was a one-off for Jeff and I'll consider it a rare occurrence and unique circumstances.

From now on, I take the snakes out when I have visitors.
