    Reptichip Storage

Hey all.. I recently moved all of my racks to a dedicated room that is climate controlled and 100% dedicated to my collection and operation. I have ALWAYS used aspen and have had a bad shed here and there but the last two in my racks have just look like bombs went off.. All of them are complete just not the complete coiled sheds I'm used to. Temps and humidity are more stable now than its ever been so that confuses me slightly. I have debated on switching my adults to reptichip to see if this helps the problem.. I have had zero issues with raisers and hatchlings.. My question is does anyone use this, and if so how to do you store the what is not used? I have always stored aspen in a clean, sealed storage container but I'm afraid with the extra humidity of the substrate it might cause mold issues. Any input on coco husks is appreciated. All animals are stored in racks.. No tanks.

I keep mine in a tote with vent holes to let the moisture escape. I turn the substrate every couple days just to mix it up for the first week or so after breaking it up.

Yes, I do the same as above, just not specifically for reptichips. I have a plastic tote, and I cut a hole in the top and hot glued a screen to it (like the screens used for doors).

Thanks for the input! This is exactly what I did.
