    Need opinions on tubs

    Hi.

I'm thinking of building a new rack but thinking of using bus/utility tubs instead of the cement mixing tubs. I came across these Rubbermaid ones and was thinking of keeping 4 females per tub and 1 male rotated in. Would 5 rats be too cramped in these tub?

    Bus/Utility Box
    Dimension 21.5" x 17-1/8" x 7", 7-1/8 gallon capacity

That tub is very small for (4) rats and you'll have smell and cleanliness problems almost immediately. You could maybe do a pair of females in there.

I use the large cement mixing tubs for mine, and they're 22x34x8 or so dimension and I run 1 male rotating between multiple tubs of (4) females in each tub.
