Honestly when I first looked I saw that yellow head and instantly thought retic but it was posted as a ball python so I looked a little closer and noticed more of a ball python type pattern but why are the colors so off for an albino ball python? I don't think I've ever seen a ball python like this. Where did you get it? What was it sold as? Is it possible it's a hybrid? Very interesting snake! If it is just a ball python, I would love to hear what morphs are causing it to have retic colors! Breed it to a normal and let us know what you get

I can’t speak for anyone else but I was thinking more of a hybrid. Not a pure Burm. And only reason I was thinking that was a possibility was because of the weird patterns and because it was moved to the retic section. Burms do weigh 1,400 grams at some point though. LOL

Well I’ve seen BurmBall crosses but in this case maybe a ReticBall ??

    Retic x Royal hybrid

Could be worth an absolute fortune to the right person

So I bought it off a want to be breeder who said she paid £500 for it a few years ago (which I thought was odd for a normal Albino). It was sold to me as just a Albino. I said that it doesn't look like a normal Albino and she said the reptile shop said it was a special type of Albino Ball Python but she couldn't remember any more details.
He is nearly 4 years old.
He weighs 1500g but looks like he needs to put on a bit of weight.
    Aren't hybrids usually bigger?
I have paired him with my normal girl and she's in the process of building follicles.
I have not seen anything like him either. I have asked a few breeders in the UK and they don't have a clue.
I'm going to stare at his face for a while to see if I think there is any retic in him lol

I'm guessing it's what's called a Yellow Head Albino. The head (obviously lol), the yellow or peach 'edging' around the pattern, and general high contrast look are all part of the trait. VPI had/has them, Ralph Davis had one, and I'm seen photos and videos of them in Europe.

Maybe it's one additional gene, but it's more likely to be a polygenic trait, as there appear to be different degrees of Yellow Head expression. They can get pretty cool looking. It is a BP trait, not something boosted from Retics
