Re: Jake (normal ball python) progression thread

Had Jake out some this evening. He is growing so fast. He is now up to 177g. Although probably more accurately around 160 since he hasn't pooped since his last meal yet. It was a bit larger than he has been having so he was good and full. My two boys think he is awesome. They are 9 and 11. I just started letting them hold him for a minute or two (very closely supervised) when I have him out. They do great with him.

Jake just chilling lol. He's been sitting like this with his head just resting on his stick for like 10 minutes. I guess it makes a good pillow.

Second shed with me last night. This one was a complete perfect shed ..yay! He went into shed right before his normal feed day so he missed a meal. I am sure he is probably hungry so may attempt to feed tonight. Weighed him this morning while I had him out to do some cage maintenance and post shed/poop he is 201g. Will post pictures soon.

Yes, I think he is beautiful. He just shed yesterday so I fed him tonight. Going to post some cell phone pics I took of him while he was eating.

I just love watching them "slurp" down the rat tail like a spaghetti noodle. Always such a treat when my Luna chooses to eat outside her hide so i get to watch lol. And then the little yawn they always do after swallowing. They are just the cutest.

Agreed. Jake always eats outside his hide. He is not shy about his food at all. He eats like a great train.

Did some clean up in Jake's tank tonight and thought I would weigh him while he was out. He is now up to 255g. He is growing so fast. I will try to get some new pics soon.
