Can videos be posted on here?

Got him out before, don’t think he was impressed by it. But ye, I think he’s going into shed.
Which will be why he hasn’t been coming out. I hadn’t put the humidity up as I wasn’t anticipating a shed.

Yes, you can post videos on here. And now you know why he's been laying low...totally normal.

Ball pythons are the pet rocks of the snake world. Typically you won’t see them all that often as they’re nocturnal and sleep all day. Occasionally mine will come out to bask then go by into his hide. Yours is acting normal except he’s chilling in the open. I’m pretty sure it’s because of the set up. Once you get that new hide and add some cover (logs, plants, etc) I think he’ll be more comfortable.

I have all males, at times some will not use the hides at all. I have a 6 year old clown that weighs over 1700grams and could careless about hides. And a 4 year old super enchi hypo at 1400grams plus, that’s very similar. Sometimes they all disappear. But it’s not uncommon for me to see them out, even the more shy ones close to feeding day. They are kept in tanks in my main living area. All four are definitely on the larger side for males. Just my two cents, Peace. Hope this helps. And be careful with some of the more decorative hides, they can present many dangers as already pointed out.

How can I keep the plants up?
I’ve got a load of plastic ones an they all keep falling down, the suction cups don’t work & I’ve used mini cable ties and they eventually fell.

Very good point mentioned above. Always check for sharp areas on hides. Exo terra hides are very high quality imo, never had issues. Their plants are soft as well. You only run into issues when using cheap decor or decor for fish I’ve noticed can be iffy.

That is some AWESOME picture detail. These phone camera's are some of the best pictures I have seen. I remember not long ago we had Polaroid film shooting out of camera's. My how things change. PS, He's a fine looking snake.

The hides that I was using are exo-terra. In two pieces so it’s easy to clean & no rough edges.
The plants are also exo-terra but I don’t know how to keep them from falling down.

Is this the hide that some of you’s have got?

    They got delivered today.

The insides are a bit jagged.
