Bookshelf that can support the weight?
So... I just weighed my Spider's 20Long setup and it's almost 50lbs!! I don't want a rack system, though I wouldn't be surprised if it was in my future. But I want a bookshelf that can support the weight and is 32 inches wide. But the problem is, I can't find one! So if anyone else keeps their babies in display tanks, what do you use? I need some ideas. I want more snakes but the only place I have to put them is on top of my dresser, and the two babies (they're adults) already live on there with no room for another... My current bookshelf is only 24 inches wide, ugh!

For your purposes, how about this:

If you have nice floors or are going to load it up with heavy terrariums then leave the wheels off.

Book shelves today aren't meant for that kind of weight on one shelf. Plus books aren't typically that wide. You need to concentrate your search more on storage shelves. You may have better results but they mostly won't looks as much like furniture as a bookshelf would.

This is what I use: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gladiator-E...nit/1000197487
And I have a 36" x 18" x 24" terrarium on it, so its sturdy.

Just curious why don't you want a rack system? You are going to price yourself into one by buying multiple thermostats, heating mats and supplies.. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with aquariums that look nice and pretty but the snake is getting the same amount of space in a rack with better temperatures, humidity and security.. The snake doesn't care... Trust me.. I tried to do multiple aquariums at first and it only led to humidity issues, temperature issues and security issues with the snake. For example I have a beautiful, crystal spider male and I did everything I could to get his a** is a tank and he wouldn't eat, handled poorly and was constantly stressed out.. Moved him to a rack that had the same floor space and boom.. Ate 4 days later and hasn't stopped.. Remember.. It's what's best for the animal not you..

One of those plastic folding tables. And if you dont like the way they look they sell spandex table covers that you see vendors use at expos.

Really bad idea... Not built for this much weight, nor are they stable enough. Not to mention, they're ugly. Don't waste your money.

Re: Bookshelf that can support the weight?
I have these.....
https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcos...and-40-gallons
The 40 gallon stand obviously holds a 40 gallon terrarium on top, using some wood I had in the garage I built a platform on the bottom.
It holds a 20 gallon tank there no problem.
On the 29 gallon stand, Holds a 20 gallon long on the top, build a platform holds 10 gallon tank on the bottom.
Adjustable feet on all 4 legs, are all metal and bolt together.
I got them on sale for cheaper than they show right now, and it was free shipping over $50.00 even on those

I started out with 2 of those that someone gave me... they would hold 1 20G long, was way longer / deeper than it needed to be, and I didn't like the slick plastic tops
Although I am using them right now as temporary stands for the 2 10 gallon tanks for the baby BP still quarantined away from the other snakes and each other.

I'm not against racks. And if I got a Ball that wanted a tub, with the new shelving I wouldnt mind putting them in a tub. I just really like watching my snakes and their behaviors, I find it fascinating. And to learn their quirks is adorable to me. Loki, my first ball, will occasionally only eat if I put a black towel over his tank. I'm willing to accommodate whatever the animal needs. Humidity has never been a problem as I live in FL. I keep their waters full and mist their tanks during shed just in case.
