I found a breeder that breeds rats, I’m waiting on her to have a litter of pinkies born so I can find one to feed him if he still won’t take a F/T. The breeder is only 45 minutes away which is nice.

Hmm...rat pinks are pretty big compared to mouse pinks, you know? And they smell & presumably taste quite different too. Not sure that will work...

How long has it been since he fed last (for the breeder)?

Apparently there’s quite a bit of breeders that have successfully used small rat pinkies. I know they are quite bigger, I’ve asked the breeder to keep an eye out for any small babies she has, this is really all I can do till I find pinky mice or make the switch to F/T. The snake has not eaten since around September 8th or so. His temps and everything has been fine and he’s drinking water, obviously no handling or unnecessary bothering has been done since I got him.

Leo unfortunately passed away a few days ago. He started eating but had issues digesting and eating regularly. His death was very unexpected. I gave him a proper burial. I was away from the forum for a few months due to life and a broken phone but im glad to be back.

Sorry for your loss. This worries us. We just purchased one last weekend. Hope we have better luck with Rosa.

I hope you do too. I've raised about 50 rosy boas, back when my snakes were breeding. I think most ppl sell them too soon, before they're feeding strong & reliably.
You want a feeding record with these, better yet if taking f/t...finding reliable sources of live pinks can be a problem for many ppl too. Also, don't handle baby snakes
when you get them...let them be snakes first & grow up some before much interaction...they turn into excellent pets but be patient, they're little.

We are leaving he alone till she eats 3 meals in our care. Today is feeding day but don't expect her to eat till next Wednesday unless she is just really hungry. She is eating live still.

Yeah ill pray that you do too. I would hate for you to go through what I did cause it was an absolute nightmare the majority of the time i had him. I even started breeding my own mice and still constant issues from mine. The breeder i got him from only fed him twice before shipping him to me which like Boger said might of been too early also he never did F/T before shipping either. Keep us updated and let us know how yours does.
