New Terrarium for Baby Chinese Water Dragon

Hello all. I will be building a terrarium, well not building but adding on to a 40 gallon feeder aquarium and all progress will continue here.

My Dragon is about 1 month old more or less

    Dimensions are
    36" length
    18" width
    17" height

I know I need a tall aquarium but this is all I have for now and at the dragons age I think it fine for now. I will be making my own 6 foot tall enclosure in 8 months or so depending on its size.

Chinese water Dragons are semi arboreal so I cut down a small tree we had and baked some branches in the oven for 2 hours at 250°F to sterilize them.

It seems to love the branches!!
I also bought a Zoo Med Round Corg.

Other then branches this is what I got so far:

    •Zilla Jungle Mix 24qt (20lbs)
    •Large Fiber hammock
•Paper towels above the mesh top to keep humidity up
•18" Zilla T8 Fluorescent UVB Light bar
•Generic basking lamp (going to need to upgrade)
•Generic red night light(gonna need to upgrade and get rid of color RED for night light)
•2 water dishes one deep and big and other small
    •Flat Corg Bark
    •Bag of Moss
•6 small spiralled up Lucky Bamboo
•1 tropical plant (Idk the species)
•1 large expesnive peice of funny shaped hard wood

I will keep about 3/4 of the enclosure land with substrate and what not, and the other 1/4 will be a plastic container full of water that I will change daily or every 2 days. 3 inches of water is what I'm planning and as long as the container fits.

So far I am waiting for my Zilla Jungle mix to come in so I can start putting everything together. I will post when I have something going.

I want to buy one other main plant for it. A dracaena tree or a pothos. I saw a beautiful lime green neon pothos at walmart the other day. Any plant I choose must be safe for the Water Dragon. I'm looking at Spider plants as well.

Every couple hours I spray its enclosure to keep it at 90% humidity and in one hour it will have barely went down to 70% no thanks to all the towels I used to cover up the tanks mesh lids. This is what I got to work with.

Cant wait for the jungle mix to come in and moss for the humidity.

This is what I have so far and I will be posting here for progress. Suggestions are welcomed!

**I use fiber rope to tie everything up!**

If anyone is interested, this is what I have so far. I dont think I will be keeping the big stick that its basking on, I dont trust it even though I baked it for 2 hours at 200°F. I don't want little creatures in the enclosure. So I'm buying 2 large jungle vines for him instead

I also need to come up with a better way for the dragon to leave the water container but that's what I have for now. Perhaps I will use the vines when I get them.

I also bought a small water pump to put inside the water container to keep water movin. That will let the dragon know there is in fact always water there and slightly increase humidity as that is important

Will post a couple pics soon
