Few questions from a new BP owner

    Hello everyone,

I picked up my male super pastel Apophis about 2.5 weeks ago. He's been an amazing eater so far, as you can probably tell from the pictures, struck almost instantly both weeks since I've gotten him. First question is should I put him on a diet? I can see the rolls when he's curled up. Also, he came from the store I got him at with some stuck shed, they were using aspen so I'm sure his humidity was atrocious. He seems to have some stuck eye caps, but I'm not 100% sure, all I can see are little creases. I gave him about a 20 minute bath last week, and got most of the stuck shed off, but there's still a little stuck on his head which he won't let me get near. Second question if this is something to worry about, or should I wait until his next shed? I heard they can go blind if eye caps stay on too long and that obviously makes me nervous. Also how can I help with head shyness? Thanks in advance!

I should also mention that I don't know his age, so it's hard for me to approximate his size with that. All I know is they hatched him in 2018. I scheduled a vet appt for next week just to get weights, overall health check. But figured I would ask here before I went and paid for it if I didn't need to.
