UGH...… the deal fell through. The house had an illegal electrical box they refused to replace. Look up Federal Pacific fuse boxes.

We worked similar sorts of repairs (ones that would fail inspection without being fixed) into the deal for my house when I bought. We just adjusted who pays how much of the closing fees vs paying the repairs and arranging them. If they're protesting paying to do it, that might work out if you really like this place.
Otherwise, there will be other houses, I'm sure. Bummer to have this happen either way though.

Is minimum 2k to replace it and update wiring. We are looking and letting them mull it over.
