Other Opinions (see pictures)
We have some pink belly going on. I know each snake presents preshed conditions differently, but this is a rescue that we just got. I've never seen her shed before. I want to be more than careful here.
4-5 years old, 4-5 feet long, normal ball python.
Before we rescued her, she was on aspen and newspaper, in a filthy enclosure with lots of crusted urates and poop. She also frequently laid on an unregulated ExoTerra 25w UTH.
I've never had the misfortune of having scale rot before, nor have I seen it first hand. I have seen pictures of minor scale rot that look similar to these. Also, given the unregulated heat mat, I was thinking it could also be healing burns.
I have also heard that the ink in newspaper can discolor scales.
Currently she is on paper towel and in quarantine
We are going to be taking her to the vet for a new-snake checkup soon, but I was wondering what you guys thought first.

Re: Other Opinions (see pictures)
TBH,
It looks more like a mild burn.
I'd make sure her new enclosure is set up right temperature and thermostat wise and expect a shed fairly soon.
Until then I would monitor her and make sure the substrate is something like papertowels or newspaper in case you need to use neosporin (without painkiller) or silver sulphadine.
