    THG Heat tape

I'm building my own rack. I ordered 4" heat tape, and they sent 3". I'm wondering if that 1" is going to make a big difference. I'm going to be using 6qt tubs with newsprint as a subtrate. So I want to know if it will make that much of a difference that I should send it back and have to wait for the 4". Or will the 3" still work, and to use it.

No you should be ok with 3". Ive always used 3" personally for my ball python racks and have always had happy, egg producing snakes.

3inch should be fine for your purpose. you should still let the company u ordered from that they sent the wrong one and u should at least get some refund or credit.

6 quarts tubs are very small I would not go bigger than 3 inches

Well, it is just for a hatchling rack.
