I did a 12 month stint doing landscape gardening about 25 years ago .. as usual I put my heart and soul into that new venture ( after 20 years in finance ) and amazed friends and family by learning the fancy Latin names as well as the more commonly used plant names .. sadly I never retained the info afterwards

Well I’ve always liked gardening so when I got the chance to do something different had something I liked it seemed like a good idea but sadly whilst I loved the gardening .. the landscaping was heavier work and left me we sciatica .. hence the last 25 years working with autistic teenagers ..

These are a couple of borders I’ve done in our back garden .. I love Pieris

The main ‘structure’ of the borders is basically a load of various evergreen shrubs with Pieris intermingled for their ‘occasional’ colouration

As regards the landscaping.. it was only two days out of six but as I was the ‘new’ guy .. I was on the lugging and mixing cement duties .. I’ll never forget trying to lift those 8 stone bags of cement off the floor after a day of hard labour .
