Emerald Tree Boa - Black Spots on Head

    Hello,

I bought an Emerald Tree Boa a couple months ago. And recently I noticed some black spots on her head. I keep her around 65% humidity, 78-85F with hot spot, and she eats perfectly. From what I've read, she is doing wonderfully, except these spots, which I havent been able to find anything about. My gut is telling me it's just some natural coloring, but I made a vet appointment just incase. Let me know if I may be overreacting or know anything about this.

    Thank you.

Welcome to the forum! Very interesting. My initial thought is the same as yours... Just natural markings. My green tree has a small black patch on its neck that is just part of her "pattern". No where else does she have this spot. I wish I had a better answer for you. Better to he safe than sorry. Good call taking to the vet. Keep us posted

Some closure: she went into shed. Her head was the first to come off and the black spots came off with it. I think she may have rubbed up on something, but either way, doesn't seem to be anything serious.
