    Asking for advice......

I have a retic that doesn't like rabbits. What methods have you used to get them to eat them as opposed to eating birds or other animals you have available?

I sewed the back end of a f/t rat to the front end of a rabbit using absorbable suture (it digests quickly) to convert over a female retic that was putting several jumbo rats per meal each week after her prior owner swore she would not eat rabbits. Took about three "rattit" meals to convert her, and I used young rabbits the same size as the jumbo rats to ensure that her total meal size wasn't too big.

Is absorbable suture available OTC (over the counter)? I've heard of this method but never tried it & wanted to suggest it to someone here a while back, but
wasn't sure if they'd be able to buy what they needed...or if you need "connections" like a sympathetic vet to buy it from?

I got it online at http://www.mountainside-medical.com/ and since they sell silvadene without a prescription I threw some on the order to save shipping; it's good to have that on-hand for reptiles.

I grew up listening to the Smothers Brothers! Cause crabs walk sideways, lobsters walk straight, and we won't let you take her for your mate!
