    Zilla 500 watt thermostat

Hi family, I just received my Zilla 500 watt thermostat in the mail today. I noticed it only has one plug in. I was wondering is it ok to plug a power strip into my Zilla to use a small 75 watt bulb and small reptile heater, all well under 500 watts. Any advise is appreciated. Hope y’all are having a fantastic Monday.

You won't be able to do that because it only has one probe.

    Re: Zilla 500 watt thermostat

    Short answer, no.
Longer answer. No, because the thermostat probe will only read the temperature for one heat source when placed correctly, meaning the second heat source will be wildly inaccurate in temperatures either too high or too low. A Herpstat 2 would have been a great option if you need to control two heating elements

Yes BUT you have to know exactly what you are doing and everything must be identical.
You also have to use a quality power strip, not the cheap junky ones.

I'm curious, how could that work with only one probe?

If all the pads are identical and the resistance is the same on every outlet of the power strip then theoretically you would only need to monitor one.
Just like daisy chaining flex a watt on a rack.

Its the duty of the keeper to monitor ALL the mats and enclosures.

Hmmmm..., Oh ok. I guess in theory that would work. Assuming it's all the same equipment and the animals require the same temps.
But I believe OP is trying to run a UTH and an additional heat source (bulb or CHE).

    yeah didnt notice that part...
Thermostat on the mat and a dimmer on the other would be the cheapest way to work that out.

I think this how I’m gonna go about it. I appreciate the advise.
