Log Hide Released Sap During Cleaning!

Hey all, while cleaning my BP's log hide, I accidentally left it in the oven for too long and it burnt out some of the exterior of my log hide. Upon inspection I saw that there was some sort of sap oozing from the log hide along with a funky smell (presumably from the ooze?)

I've purchased these hides from authorized Zoo Med retailers. Is this ooze/sap considered dangerous?

Sap happens...it was a real tree at one time, lol. Not dangerous, just sticky...so scrape off or cover it with something so it doesn't get on your snake.
