Breeding dwarf boas

Hi!
Read a lot about dwarf boas today and especially Sonoran boas. It said in one article that I read that many leopard boa genes came originally from Sonoran Boas. I am curious, can you breed a Sonoran boa female for example to a regular boa male? Would there b complications as to the babies being to large for the female to give birth to? Not sure exactly how it works in snakes, I know with other animals when a small female for example is bred with a large male it can create complications and death in the worst case.

I really wouldn't like to say. Most smaller boas have smaller litters anyway.
males are generally smaller anyway, but I personally wouldn't like to breed a nice locality boa to a larger boa anyway, most people have sonoran boas to produce leopards , it's a recessive gene so the male would have to be het for leopard too, to get a nice visual leopard boa, much sort after due to there amazing markings, patterns and nice small size

If you are going to do it, use a dwarf male and a non-dwarf BI female for two reasons:
- Neonate size,
- Sperm retention across breeding seasons; you want the females to always produce pure locality babies.

A quick note. Having been breeding Sonorans for the last 24 years, I can tell you they have large litters. The babies are smaller than many locales. For example, one of my 5ft pure Sonoran leopard gave birth last week to 25 babies.
