    Tricky BP-dont like rats!

I only know one trick to get a hatchling from hopper mice to rats, but I think my lav girl is too smart. I offered a rat 3 weeks ago and she wouldn’t even take a whiff. So I thought maybe she wasn’t hungry. I offered a rat pup the next week again, and same thing. I got some mouse bedding and tried to scent the rat but no luck. I went ahead and offered a mouse and she took it right away. So any other tips or tricks would be appreciated. Never had any of my others give me any issues. Luckily I’ve got a retic so the rats never go to waste!!

If you're feeding f/t, thaw the rat with a mouse; if you can feed 2 small items that together are roughly the size she needs to eat, feed the mouse first, then
follow with the rat...maybe try chain-feeding it in a time or two, while she learns that it too is edible. Some snakes stay pumped up enough to just grab another
small item, but BPs are "special"...
