how to remove white stains from bottom of cage
I have AP cages and I have a hard time getting the white stain that develops on the bottom of the cage from urine. I clean and disinfect after every mess but that white cloudy look still shows on my black cage surface.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of that.
Thanks

Have you tried white vinegar, full strength?

It’s definitely a frustrating problem. Especially with large adult snakes with massive quantities.
Ill try the white vinegar.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

No, I have not. Do I just wash it down with the vinegar and then rinse well. Do I have to let it air out prior to putting my snake back in??

White vinegar works really well for urate stains.
I hate the super strong vinegar smell afterwards, so then I rinse it out with a water/mr clean fabreeze cleaner mix. Then wipe down and let dry.

I've wondered the same as well since these stains are so hard to remove on the bottom of my AP enclosure. So would I use vinegar in addition to a disinfectant like chlorhexidine?

use the vinegar first by itself to remove the urates.
Then you can clean with whatever you want

Vinegar is actually a mild disinfectant too, but you could use vinegar for the stains first, then rinse/dry (so you are not mixing vinegar with other products), then wipe
down again with cholorhexidine if you want. I use vinegar on all their water bowls, it's good for removing mineral deposits from hard water.
