Yuckiest Vegetable!
ok so i just found out that today is National Eat Your Vegetables Day. i like veggies and try to eat them w/ every meal. butt when i comes to veggies, i like the ones that i like - such as carrots, bell peppers, leafy stuff, various beans, etc. i even like broccoli but many peeps do not like broccoli. there are actually many veggies that are not likable. for example, it is widely agreed that brussels sprouts are disgusting. (it's true!) anyways i hope everyone does their part to eat some veggies today. even the biggest carnivores out there, i hope u can squeeze more than 1 leaf and have a whole salad.
in the mean time, i was curious what veggie u think is the grossest or yuckiest? i'm listing the usual suspects in the poll.
RIP Mamba

Oooooh, good one!!
A) brussel sprouts are DELICIOUS!!!
I don't like many veggies raw, but cooked, I'll eat almost all of them.
One vegetable that I think should just disappear is celery. It's honestly gross and I can't think of a single dish that wouldn't be good without it.

Peas 100%. I love literally every other vegetable. We're big veggie people in my house but peas are blasphemy!!

I'm not big on onion. It makes meat cooked with it taste good. But then any leftover bits- bleck. I also hate peppers. Unfortunately this makes me a picky eater in my area- since people put them in EVERYTHING. :eyeroll:
But otherwise, I've found I like most vegetables if they're prepared right. I'll eat broccoli like candy.

I'm with Toad37...I'd prefer lima beans over peas, but that's not saying much.
I'm a big veggie eater with a big "yes" to broccoli, kale, brussels sprouts+ (cooked & with a bit of butter, YUM!) & almost everything is better with onions, but
some veggies need some "help" to be good. Celery is good cooked in turkey stuffing, & not bad raw w/ peanut butter on...I just hate the strings. Kale in a green
salad is a bit of an acquired taste, but I actually like eating it raw along with spicy Mexican food...the bitterness disappears...or try cooking it with some sweet
corn (50:50) & with a bit of butter...you'll mostly taste the corn, honest.
I think mushrooms are quite gross*...but they're supposed to be good for ya, so I put them in spaghetti sauce or on my pizza. (*it's pretty bad when even
my dogs won't eat them...they even like broccoli!)

Re: Yuckiest Vegetable!
I know it is very good for you, but kale gets my vote. Just does not taste good at all. It can be mixed with other greens and the only thing I taste is the bitter kale. But in the end my wife likes it so I "like" it.

Seriously, try it with sweet corn! Cook the kale halfway (about 3+ min in M/W), then add some frozen corn & cook another 3+ minutes, drain & a bit of butter.
It's pretty (yellow & deep green) & the sweet corn balances the kale. This is different than mixing with other greens, where it dominates.

Thanks boger. I'm willing to give it a shot. I will admit, it would be a good looking dish.
