    The Chronicles of Chompy

I got a few babies in the other day. First one out of the bag was this little turd, who wasted no time in biting me. "Settle down chompy!. I guess your name is now Chompy."

He was very angry, right up to when I wiggled a rat fuzzy in front of him, which he instantly hit and ate. Maybe the dragon can be placated with enough food, we shall see...

I'll keep posting pics of him, hes the best looking out of the 4 I got and the 7 overall I have, and they're all very good looking snakes. Chompy is on another level though.

The best-looking snakes always have the worst temperaments...'cause they know they can get away with it!

I'll be honest though...if I was ever stuffed into a bag & shipped somewhere, I'd come out cranky too.

My sincere condolences to your thumb, but Chompy's angry little face definitely got a chuckle out of me. Beautiful little guy!

Chompy will settle down and be a good snake in no time.

I had an extra rat that another of the babies had refused, Chompy made sure it didn't go to waste. Two great feeding responses in 4 days. I'll put up some pics after he sheds for me. Chompy is a Mojave Enchi Ghost, so he should only get better with age.

Chompy had mellowed a bit, I've handled him with no aggressive response, but doing tub cleaning today he was back to his old snappy self.

He has shed once, he's a great feeder so far, being the one of my three babies that will take FT. I got a little collapsible hook to make dealing with him easier, and to help with another one I got that makes Chompy seem like a wallflower.

I'll take snakes with a strong feeding response any day. Most learn how to be pets later anyway...they need to be snakes first & self-defense is just normal instinct.
