    Terra cotta hides?

So I was wondering, since terra cotta is really absorbent, if you were to soak terra cotta hides in water before putting them in an enclosure would it increase humidity? Or maybe it would dry out too fast and just be kind of pointless, I'm not sure, just curious as to what other people think

These are designed for that purpose and have a small water reservoir on top so they don't dry out too fast.

As with most good ideas, there's a downside. Yes, terra cotta holds humidity (they also make holders for bottles of wine that are meant to be soaked to keep the
wine cool via evaporation: https://www.leaf.tv/articles/how-to-...-wine-chiller/ ) But that very quality of terra cotta, that it's porous enough to absorb
water, means it will also be hard to clean if or when your snake takes a dump on it. Just saying.
