    First time working with HOTS

A photographer friend of mine cruised this Timber Rattlesnake last night while herping and bagged it for a photo shoot tonight with all of his nice camera equipment. Asked if I wanted to come along to see it and help him pose it for photos...
    Why, yes. Yes I would.

using my hat to get it to coil up for a good photo pose.

    Such an amazingly beautiful animal.

Very nice find. Did you guys put him back where you found him?

I'm not a fan of tongs though, I've seen too many people do damage to snakes with them over using snake hooks.

What a pretty timber! I agree with Neal...I used to have some "professional tongs" but found I really didn't much like or use them, & for the same reason.
It's really easy to put too much pressure & break ribs etc. so I just used my hooks, & finally got rid of the tongs. (I never injured a snake with my tongs,
but I became acutely aware of that issue from one that was given to me that had been injured by another. Mostly, I found the tongs heavier and more
awkward than I liked to use...I'm sure I'm smaller than you guys are, lol.)

Yep, same spot it was found but a little ways off the road.

I can understand that about the tongs. I assure that this animal was left unharmed but I don’t doubt that there are folks who are overzealous with their grip pressure.
