Ball Python - Eyes Turning Clear??

Hello everyone,

I have a male pastel coral glow ball python about a year old who just got off of a brief hunger strike bc my husbandry wasn't spot on like it should have been. Now that everything is looking good and he has eaten his first meal after his hunger strike I noticed that his eyes are turning clear? Not milky/blue like he is going into she'd but LITERALLY CLEAR. Like when you look and a ball pythons eyes from the side/top the entire eye looks opaque and black. Well, Noodle's eyes look completely clear from the side/top all of a sudden. Any research I try to do only brings up "they are going into shed" or "they have a retained eye cap" but I know for a fact it is neither of those. Has anyone else seen anything like this? I feel like I'm going crazy! And advise is appreciated! Will provide a picture soon!

Yes I think we need pictures.

Have you looked up "blocked lacrimal glands" in snakes to see if it is similar?

Cass&Noodle, I think you need to take your snake to the vet (reptile specialized) more than we need pix here. Though we remain curious & willing to help,
this needs vet attn. ASAP, IMO.

What did the OP say that made you respond “take your snake to the vet?” That’s a fairly premature, canned, knee jerk response isn’t it? Are you replying just to reply and get a “thanks...” in reality you have no information to justify your comment. Right?

It's what they didn't say...their lack of urgency for something as unusual as this going on with something rather important (eyes!).

I boldened it for you. "Completely clear" is absolutely not normal or home treatable without knowing the causes. And "all of a sudden" indicates a fast progressing problem, in an area as delicate as the eyes it needs urgent, knowledgable assessment and probably treatment. In reality their post was the absolutely correct advice for the circumstances and your post was not useful or accurate in any way.
