What Movie(s) Would You Like to See Remade?
After seeing Ax01's "Favorite Movies and Films" thread, I was inspired to ask: What movie(s) would you like to see remade? Extra credit if you name a director you'd like to see helm that remake.
I'll start by saying I would love to see Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, currently working on Dune) do a remake of Logan's Run from 1976. I absolutely love the original and I think Villeneuve's style and approach would be interesting to see.

I love Logan's Run! But it is dated and deserves a quality remake. I'd like the poeple that redid Westworld to do it.
I'd love to see an update to Highlander because the last movie took a huge dump all over the franchise and left everyone with a bad taste.
Speaking of bad. Dragonball and Avatar: The Last Airbender deserve better than what they got.

Definitely the Golden Compass movie, but I'm stoked HBO is releasing it (the trilogy?) as a series. It will hopefully be much better. As for a director if they redid the film version, David Fincher
I really WANT them to get on with either a movie or TV version of the Red Rising triology...
And it would be nice if they could basically redo seasons 7 and 8 of GOT if GRRM ever gets around to actually finishing the books.

While it wasn’t released that long ago, the Berserk movie. I was really looking forward to it, but along with generally being low budget and rushed, they released it with a ton of technical glitches they didn’t know how to fix.

I'm not familiar with that one. I'll have to look it up.

i've seen my share of disappointing movies butt why can't i think of one right now? :/
Edit: ok, i would love to see a re-make of The Namesake. it's based on a book of the same name. it's a very deep book and the movie just misses that mark on some of the themes.
there are dozens of other remakes i would like to see.

I say this with extreme skepticism, but if done right, a modern day Clockwork Orange could be amazing.
I wouldn't want to stray too far from the original, but just make it a bit more contemporary. Make the "medical" treatment more current, their "costumes" more current, etc... And maybe base it in the U.S.
But again, I say this with extreme skepticism. It would be tough to improve upon Stanley Kubrick's version of the Anthony Burgess book, but I feel like a well done contemporary Clockwork Orange could be amazing.
....but, they'd probably just butcher it...

Also The Time Traveler's Wife. It's one of my favorite books and the movie was just awful. Horrible casting, too. Not sure who I'd want to direct.

A Clockwork Orange is a masterpiece and I'm very close to declaring it one of the movies that should never be revisited. Let me drink a tall glass of Moloko Vellocet and go for a drive in my Durango '95 while I think about this one.
