    Custom reptile hides

While i'm happy with the inexpensive and easy to clean plastic hides from reptile basics. I would love to craft some wooden ones for Adina, my baby RTB. While i don't mind researching my questions online, and often i do. With this i would rather have input from a great community. Giving people the chance to express their oppinions and openly critiqe mine :-) Basically i'd like to see some designs that i can build.

My goal is to build numerous reptile hides that meet a few requirments.

    1.easy to clean.
    2.unique
    3.practical for my dear snake.

Wood isn't as easy to clean as plastic and i'd love a few oppinions on the best way to do so. i don't mind spending the extra time cleaning wood vs plastic hides for i enjoy al aspects of keeping my snake.

as far as being creative goes, my mind ends at a simple wooden box wich isn't fun at all.

i want Adina to enjoy her new hides. Whether some of them she's able to climb on or whether some have 2 story compartments doesn't matter to me as long as it's interesting for her.

Also i have maple, walnut, and oak to use as wood.
thankfully i get large ammounts of scraps for free from work. (i build custom furniture) But other wood suggestions would be fine aswell

i have a AP 2'x12"x4' cage incase anyone was wondering.
Excited to see your guys input.

    I have 3 of these.

    https://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-PT2.../dp/B00GVDU41K

Two for a 7 foot boa constrictor and 1 for a 8-9 foot reticulated SD x Dwarf python.

    Light and easy to clean.

Here is what it looks like in my setup.

If you are dead set on building hides, give it a go. These are pretty much "plug and play" which made things easy here, plus the naturalistic look fits what I like in a viv.

I wouldn't of thought to use those. They're a great idea. I'll forsure save them in a wish list for Adina. I have a suv full of wood scraps though that i want to build stuff out of vs burning it. I think for one of the hides i'll replicate the tortoise hide. i like the contours it has. thanks for the thought!

If you are talented with wood work and building, give your own ideas a shot.

I'd snowball on that and staple fake plants to the hide you construct to give it a naturalistic look.

The T-shell hides were just to easy for me to pass on so I went that route.
