Away
Hi All,
I`ll be going away from home for about 6 days, and not planning to take my little beardie along since I`ll be travelling by flight and I`m concerned that he might get thrown about since I would need to put him in a small plastic tank for the journey.
Q1: Would it be ok if I leave the light off while I`m away?
For info, temps never drop below 80 with lights off.
Q2: This is more serious, his staple diet is dusted crickets,
but would it be ok if I leave a few mealworms to last the 6 days
instead?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Away
Is it possible to find someone that can come and check up and feed your little guy?

Re: Away
Unfortunately no, since my neighbour won`t be around either.
But I forgot to mention that my sister will be around a for a few days so
he`s going to be left alone for about 3-4 days.

Re: Away
if you take him with you are you going to be able to bring his setup, lights, food, etc? and would you be bringing him on the plane in your carry on luggage or would he be getting checked and stowed in the luggage area on the plane?
i think it would be best to leave him home. you can get a timer for the light so it comes on and off as it needs to. leave lots of mealworms in a dish and some of the dry or pellet food that they make for beardies. give him crickets and greens right before you leave. it will be far less stressful for him to stay at home than be toted around i would think.

Re: Away
I can`t take him in the carry on luggage ( airline regulation ), so I would need to have him checked and stowed in the luggage compartment - which will no doubt be stressful for him ( and me).
So yes I`ll feed him greens and crickets as normal before I leave and put in lots of mealworms and pellets to last while I`m away.
Thanks and really appreciate the input.
