Fantasy Football season two...

Ok, ok, I know we're a few months away from kickoff, but with the draft last week I've got football fever...

For those who are new to the forum or simply didn't know...

Last year I ran a fantasy football league which consisted of our members here at BP.net.

With the help of a few others, we decided on
FootBallPythons.net as our league name.
*** Important disclaimer*** BP.net is in no way affiliated with the league. I simply brought likeminded people together to have a fun league with my snake loving friends.

Last year was the innagural season and we had a blast. The league is free, no money changing hands. However, we had some fantastic side bets that were all about bragging rights and fun.

I'm sure we'll get the majority of the league back, only one player will not be invited back because they bailed late in the season and didn't play it through once they were out of contention. Its all about fun, people. Don't be one of those who spoil the integrity for the rest of us....

Anyway, if any new members have any questions or would like to participate I think we have room for a few more. Last year was a 10 team league, I'm hoping for 10 or 12 this year, but those numbers aren't set in stone.

Returning members, please give me a heads up either way if you'll be playing again this year.

While I love football, I have never understood how fantasy football works. If someone could point to a "Fantasy Football For Dummies" guide that would be great.

Draft players and get points depending on how good they play, really that simple. Every week your team plays someone else's team. You set your lineup, the other team sets their lineup and verse each other. Last year a bunch of newbies played and had no problems. During the season there is also a chat where you can ask questions and such.

We had a few rookies last year and they did just fine. One even went to the finals.

It really is pretty simple. There's a draft where we all draft real NFL players. There are roster requirements based on positions, as well as "backups".
Then each week you set a starting lineup of ypur players.
- 1QB, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 2 WRs, one Flex (can be a RB, TE or RB, your choice), 1 Kicker and 1 Defense/Special Teams (you pick a team def/ST as opposed to individual players).

Then you play another team in the league each week. The better your players do in real life = the higher you score. Highest score for the week gets a win.

Then repeat each week against different opponents from our league.

No money involved. Just all about fun (and some fun side bets you can propose and/or accept if you choose to, but definitely not mandatory.

You can do "mock drafts" on the website to practice and get the idea of how the draft works too.
