You'd think for a species that I imagine is pretty vulnerable when farting/pooping that they would have evolved to not be quite so loud and ridiculous while doing so. Nothing like alerting the rest of the animal kingdom to your precise location. I mean, Cher woke me up from a dead sleep one night while pooping and it looked like she was having a seizure she was flailing around so much.

It's probably due to all this rich food in captivity: c/b rodents raised primarily on grain, whereas in the wild they'd eat more plants & insects. (just like the way cows/cattle are fed corn/grain to fatten them up quickly, & it's not their natural diet either)

Good point. That could easily be from the richer diet...maybe they also get beans.

Luckily most of my crew are quiet poopers.

I really wasn't saying they're 'high fiber": I think they have more body fat, which snakes have trouble digesting, and stuff that isn't well-digested is what
makes a stink. If that's actually what's going on, they aren't better for our snakes either, especially since our snakes are more sedentary.

    I don't care how old I get, til the day I die...farts = funny.
I laughed out loud when I read this. A long time ago when my son was about 9 or so. We were sitting at the table doing something and I ripped a loud one. My son started laughing and we could instantly feel the waves of disapproval from the wife who was over on the couch. My son leaned over and said "I don't care how old I get.. Farts will always be cool".... lol
