Securing Heat Tape to a tub.

    Hi guys,

This is not for a reptile, but for my Dubia colony to feed to my rats that the snakes eat.

I have a length of 3" heat tape that I want to secure to the side of this bin. It will be controlled with a dimmer so I am not worried about it getting too warm and damaging the tub.

How would you secure said tape to plastic bin?

    Thx.

    Paul

I use clear gorilla tape. Not sure if that's the preferred method but the heat tape doesn't get hot enough to melt it and I haven't had an issue with it.

I use aluminum foil tape when securing heat tape to any surface.

for a stand alone tub, i prefer to use aluminum tape and tape the UTH or heat tape (on t-stay) to a surface like a table or movable board and then place the tub on top of it. like the second method here: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...e-Basics-*DUW* it makes cleaning tubs much easier w/o worrying about wet wires and cables.

All novel ideas. I was mainly wanting this as something that I can move around without too much issue. I was leaning towards the tape route. Probably pick up some tape tonight while I'm out. I need zip ties to finish installing the hobby plastic screens and then I can get heat done and move them out of the room temp tub and into a warm one.

    Thanks again!

    Paul
