Yeah as long as they’re not abrasive you’re fine.

I would use plastic over fabric as they're more easily cleaned.

Also check them carefully to make sure there are no closed loops that your snake can get stuck in, or sharp points where wires may be sticking out so your snake doesn't get scratched.

The plants from craft stores like Michaels are often the same as the ones sold in pet stores but they're a lot cheaper at the craft store.

Seems like a lot of people here use the fake plants from craft stores like that, plus they are cheaper than the pet store fake plants.

Pet stores do tend to gouge on prices for some things...like the 'reptile cage carpet' (either Astro-turf or indoor-outdoor type, my pref.- is a far better deal
at Home Depot & similar home improvement stores). Same goes for sphagnum moss (see florists & plant nurseries), & fake plants as above.

all of our corns love this specific fake plant. it looks pretty nice in their tanks too. we keep them more natural with deer antlers and turtle shells for hides.

    Re: Decor

If you get some that have wires sticking out after they’re trimmed, try covering the wires in a small blob of hot glue to keep them dull
