    Scorpions and Heatmats

I went to my local pet store today and started talking about scorpions. He said that a heatmat wont get the air temperatures high enough for a emperor scorpion. I was going to use a 10g tank with screen top and a footlong peice of 11" flexwatt all connected to my 82F thermastat. Would this work.

    Re: Scorpions and Heatmats

You really want to put the heat on the side of the tank f you can. Using some Aluminium foil can help reflect some of the heat into the tank as well. Scorpions naturally burrow down to avoid the heat and if they burrow down into warmer and warmer areas, they're not going to stop.
