    New Addition!

    Hey everyone!

I'd like to introduce the newest addition to our mini zoo, Zia!

My boyfriend and I took a 6 hour roadtrip with two of our classmates to go down to the Reptile Expo in Toronto yesterday and had such a great time! Bryan and I are from pretty far north so we dont really get any expos at all around us, and this was a first.

I went fully expecting to not get anything (Bryan is usually the "no" man) but he saw this little girl and fell in love!

She's an Anery het leopard, 50% het khal. She's about 10 months old and I cant get enough of her! Her eyes are mesmerizing! Seems to have a great attitude so far. She's being left alone while she settles in, but even just going in to the snake room to change water/check on things she's so focused and observant!

Anyways, thanks for looking! She's our first boa - so excited to be able to start interacting with her

Awesome boa. I'm sure you will enjoy her. Boy she seems darker compared to the breeder pics. She's like an argentine boa with out the attitude.

    Re: New Addition!

I know, she's so different! The breeder pics are from when she was a neonate I believe, and she's about 10 months now

Is it normal for their colour to change that much that quickly?

I love how dark she is, I won't complain if it continues

Her attitude seems great so far, she's S'd a little but no hissing or striking.

    Re: New Addition!

    Very nice pick up indeed.
it might be like most boas they have light and dark phases, can be pretty extreme from night to day sometimes almost like two different snakes, I’ve noticed that a lot of boas with anery in them do it , my motley does and a lot of locality too ,the leopard gene in the there even tho it’s a recessive gene nearly always shows thru like the blood gene . The leopard does with the high speckling. The leopard gene comes from Sonoran boas
Good luck with settling her in she’s great
