    Dexter's new spot

I freaked last week because I thought my Mojave had escaped. But I picked up his water bowl and there he was. He stays under there now lol

2 possible conclusions you might draw from that:

    1. hides are too big & don't offer a snug feel (easy fix- crumple some paper towel & stuff inside)

    2. insufficient "cool side" of cage as currently set up (what are the high & low temps in cage?) (is there at least 2 suitable hides in cage, 1- warm & 1- cool side?)
often the coolest place that a snake can find is under the water bowl...plus, if offers "back pressure" (snug feeling)

    Re: Dexter's new spot

This is something he just started doing. I have had him in the same rack system since I got him back in December. I have 7 snakes total and they just have one hide. The temps are good on both ends. The room temp stays right around 78 degrees with the use of a small ceramic heater. The back side temps are right around 88-90 degrees and the front temps are around 75-80 degrees.
