My retics are in 78x30x18 cages, each heated with a 150watt ceramic heater about 12" from one end. The room they're in gets 70-71 summer time and down into the 50's during winter.

Re: Radiant heat panel, heat tape or ambient temperature?
No retics, but I have a 7’ boa in a 8’x30”x18” Monster Cage, 2 rhp on one end (Pro Products PH12C panel, recommended by Bob to use two instead of one larger one). Ambient in room is 72-75F in winter, 75-77F in summer, cage stays 77-80F in the cool end and 88-90F warm end year round.

Ambient room temp if you have a lot of snakes is the best way to go, however if you only have a small collection then between the two of heat tape and heat panel I prefer heat panel, but heat tape is a cheaper route and it doesn't affect the humidity.
