Heat Lamp And Other Questions!
I purchased and OTTH ceramic bulb heater for my basking area. Has anyone liked these? I liked the idea of no red light at night in my house and that the bulb lasts longer.
I also have an UTH to warm under the hide on the warm side.
I still have to get a normal light just to light the tank up. And some green goodness and vines to make it more hidey
I am so excited.
Now for some questions:
1. how many days should I leave the snake alone before handling?
2. when should feeding be attempted?
Snakes are good to keep the in-laws out of your house
0.1.0 Ball Python
1.0.0 Butter Corn Snake
0.0.1 Leopard Spotted Tortoise
6 Hermit crabs
5 sickly cats!!!!
...and a partridge in a pear tree!!! (ok, I know that was retarded)

Leave a new snake alone for a full week after you get it (I know how hard it is!)
Feed after that week, and never handle a snake until 48 hours after a meal.

OTTH ceramic heater.... are you talking about a ceramic heat emmitter that looks like a bulb but puts out no light? If so, I have been using ceramic heat emmitters for a few years, in fact, they last so long, they are so worth the expenditure on them, I have had both of mine running 24/7 for over 2 years now, and they still put out the same heat as the day they were bought.

Cover the lid to retain humidity and avoid putting any heating elements inside the cage with the herp.
Not sure if that was what you were asking - if not please clarify.
