Incubation
Hi,
I am totally new to breeding ball pythons. I kept my pythons in an extra large tank together (i know it is not a right thing to do). Recently i had a unexpected clutch of fertilized eggs from one of my female. I ordered a reptibator online an put all the eggs for incubation. Lately, i am seeing dark spots in the eggs. The temp is constant at 89 degrees and humidity anywhere from 75-90. Is it normal? Was my incubation medium too wet that is causing this? Will it rot the eggs?
I have used vermiculite and per lite as a medium. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
As i mentioned earlier, this is my first time doing this and was not prepared for it. I have moved all of my snakes into individual tubs so that i can keep a track of everything now on.

Re: Incubation
Post a pic of the eggs if you can. Spots could mean the eggs are going bad etc (mold could also be possible). Hard to say without seeing a pic of them. Do they still have veins when you candle them? Also, if you haven't already separate your adult BPs so that each has it's own enclosure.

Did you just put them alone in the incubator? Or did you put them in a tub first? Humidity shouldn't never go under 90% best to keep hundidty as close to 100% as possible. Have you tried candling them to see of there are still good. And how long have you had them incubating?

I want to see how your eggs are setup and what the spot looks like.
Are your eggs in a tubs with the lid on?
Spots can be anything from wet spot (condensation dripping on the egg or substrate to wet), to egg starting to mold (which sometime is nothing so moldy eggs go full term, to the egg that died and start to mold).
Only with a picture or two can we guide you with the next step.
And no there is no such a thing as too much humidity as it should be as close to 100% as possible.
