Frozen feeders lost/delayed by Fed Ex

I ordered some frozen rats and they are not going to make it on time. Any one with insight as to how long the dry ice and packaging will keep them good. I doubt they will show over the weekend so that’s over 7 days from the Monday shipping day. Fed ex is the absolute worst.

It depends, I've had a shipment arrive late (I can't recall how many days) and there was still dry ice and they were all still frozen solid. Had a different order also late and those had started to get pliable (soft), tossed them. In that case, the supplier reshipped the order and filed claim with fedex.

    Ugh.

I've had shipments delayed 2 days and still arrived frozen, but if not frozen solid - DO NOT RISK IT! It's just not worth it.

    That's a bummer.

Look on the bright side. They lost snake food. Fed Ex lost my snake! See Yafe's thread - 4 months of hell to get him back on his proverbial feet.

    However, he's doing fine now.

Anyway, I would contact whomever you bought the feeders from as they might have insurance through fed ex for things like this, or may sell you replacements at cost, etc.

I've worked with Big Cheese and Perfect Prey and I wouldn't expect anything less from either.

Yeah Dakski I remember that. They also were going to delay delivery of my Albino by a day. I called and screamed at them about that because of your situation. Somehow, all of there operating problems deserve my sympathy. It’s bad enough the shipping charges and then the inability to deliver.
The new updated delivery is Tuesday. The package traveled from Arlington Or. to Troutdale Or. in 18 hours. It’s literally 3.5 hours away from me and it can’t get here until end of day Tuesday. Unbelievable. 8 days for what has been 3-4 the last three times I’ve ordered. I’ve gotten cycling gear from the UK in less time. It’s guaranteed frozen deliver but I’m thinking that’s not happening. It’s Big Cheese and I already shot them an email but probably a phone call on Monday.

I agree with David's post above: if they're still frozen solid, no problem...but if softened (thawed), no thanks. It's not your fault, they should replace the order.
