    basics

    i just got a ball python ive never had a reptile before and was wondering how often i can handle the snake especially after feeding. i notice the snake is hiding alot after feeding for a few days is that normal?

    First off, Welcome to the site!

    Do not handle the snake for about 48 hours after it eats. You could cause the snake to regurgitate it's meal, which is VERY VERY bad. It's normal for a snake to hunker down while digesting a meal, usually coming back out after the 48 hours depending on the size of food you are feeding. Try not to feed items that are too large for your snake. About the same size or a little smaller than the widest part of your snake. Here's a link to the caresheet too....
