Morph Market Question
Simple question....Have any of you ever been suspicious of anyone doctoring their photos on Morph Market?

Re: Morph Market Question
I always ask for more photos. Never trust just one photo. I bought a sheep online one time that looked way better in the picture.

Re: Morph Market Question
That’s part of what led to my suspicions. I asked for updated pictures and the reply was “I don’t have any.” I asked if the snake really looks like the picture shows. The response was “I feel like the picture is a good representation of how the snake looks.” (I’m paraphrasing here) Just left a bad impression on me.
As a side note, if the snakes the breeder has actually look that way, they are the absolute model of perfection of the morph. Maybe he was being honest and didn’t have another picture. Just wondering if that sort of thing exists in the hobby.

Red flag....
When I have hatchlings for sale and people ask about more photos than I posted, I tell them they will have to wait until I get home after work. Most people don't mind and understand BUT I have had a couple that popped off about waiting. I dont have have time to deal with self-centered people like that.

Considering the money involved & the competition for sales, I think you're right to be suspicious. I have no experience with MM, only with "life" in general.
So I'd be surprised if all the sellers were reliable...I'd hope that most are, but it's not realistic to think that all of them are. If a seller wants to make a sale, and
especially if it's one of the pricier snakes, they ought to be willing to furnish more & current photos. Just my 2 cents. Trust your gut...
PitOnTheProwl makes a good point though...you have to expect the seller to have a life & be willing to wait a reasonable time for extra photos. There's a big
difference between waiting a while for more photos or having them reject your request.

If someone cannot or or does not want to provide additional pictures, just walk away. Those days everyone has a camera or cell phone or tablet so there is no excuse.
If someone cannot provide pictures it's either
A scam
Or they are using a dropshippers (meaning they know nothing about the animal and it's not in their possession)
Anyone should be able to provide pictures within 24 to 48 hours unless out of town.

I agree...a lot of them are enhanced and have filters on them......additional pictures should be provided in a timely manner... at the end of the day it's MY money you want

Re: Morph Market Question
Whenever I buy or sell online, I usually have the breeder take a casual photo on the fly. Like a basic phone photo of them holding the snake up out of the tub.
I also send additional photos to anyone inquiring, as PIT said, it may take me a day or so to get them.

Well the simple fact is Morph Market is simply a classified listing venue made up of people of all walks of life that showed ID to prove they are who they say they are.
So it's highly likely that some photos are a bit doctored, that has always happened in the reptile industry and something to keep an eye out for. Some people adjust
photos to try to get them as close to real life as possible, some don't do anything and some may amp up contrast or a hue to really making something pop. Always
buyer beware in any situation and if you feel something may have been doctored, there's never any harm in asking for new or different photos to try to make sure
you're buying what you think you are. If the seller refuses, then take that into consideration before spending hard earned dollars.
Good luck!
