    The Complete BoaConstrictor

Expensive book these days and apparently in demand. $574 on Amazon for new with used going for $493. eBay buy now was $365 and of course the only one up for auction just went for $320. Lucky me I won. Seems like a must have book and despite the entry fee I’m looking forward to it. Just hard to believe the prices. I picked up the Complete Ball Python so this seemed like a good addition. Since my snakes are young and I’m not sure what direction I may go but I spent loads of money on shop manuals for cars so probably no different.

It's because it's out of print. Kicking myself that I didn't buy a copy sooner.

    Re: The Complete BoaConstrictor

I lucked out and got mine last summer when it was still $50-60. No way I’d pay $300+ for it but it is a very very good boa book for sure

About two months ago I could have had it buy now for $100 but oh well. I have paid hundreds more for shop manuals. I get that it’s out of print but seriously, not even an electronic option from publisher. I think the businesses that inflated the price drastically more than what I paid will never see a dime of my money. Since I will have my snakes for a very long time I won’t complain to much but the few copies still out there could get even more rediculous. The fact it’s a special interest item plays well into price gouging. I did really want the book so now I have it.

I had read that it is out of print because a new updated version will be coming out - when, I don’t know.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I spoke to Vin a few months ago. He said he's been working on another book for a while, but has no timeline. Seems it's been an off and on thing for him. Just my interpretation. Said he might finish it if there publishers and interest, or something along those lines.

I did not get the sense that anything is imminent.

    Great book.

He also wrote this, which is available on kindle, and is under $4.

A good start anyway for someone who doesn't want to spend $400.

Picked mine up about two years ago and it was still expensive ....I think I paid $45 off Amazon. Jeeezz I should really list it on Ebay. That's insane.
