    Humidity?

This is probably overkill. But does anybody else line their tubs in paper towel then use a thin layer of forest floor bedding. Use the paper towel to soak in excess moisture. I'm trying out different ways to try and keep my humidity below 80%. I have drilled a ton of holes in the tubs. I have removed all substrate. It's just a bare tub. (Snakes are not in it right now). And it's still reading 75-80%. Then again I am getting the reading off of an analog thermo/hygro gauge. I have a hygrostat I'm thinking of setting up just to see what it says. I know the paper towel under the forest floor bedding sounds like overkill. But have tried everything I can think. But I'm no expert. So I probably haven't tried everything. But any sort of other ideas will be helpful.

I would bet its those analog humidity gauges. I haven't had one that has worked right for any extended amount of time. Using a digital thermostat is best.
Also, forest floor comes out of the bag pretty damp, so if its a fresh, new bag, it will increase your humidity.

You're right. I ripped out the analog gauge. It's been sitting on my table for a couple hours now. And the needle is still on 80%. That's going in the trash. Hooked up the hygrostat and it's reading 68%. Which is a little more like it.

Hey. I was just looking at those on E-Bay. You can get two for $16.99.

Thought it might be. They're annoying, and I'll never be able to trust them again. One time, when I suspected one of not working, I let one sit in my enclosure, in my bedroom, and in a tupperware filled with wet paper towels. Read all the same, 80%.
