    One of my pythos has a hole in her head.

    Dear Herps,

    I checked one of my female pewter pythons.

    But she got a wierd hole in her head.

    Weird, looks like an injury from something jabbing her. Is there anything sharp in the enclosure? Also could be from a rat if you live feed. I’m not really sure and I’d recommend seeing a vet as it could get infected.

    Do you feed off of forceps? If so: she may have poked herself on a strike.

    I fed her live mouses, but I always watch them strike and check them after eating it.

    I cannot tell from that photo how deep the "hole" is...it looks more like a head rub* to me than a bite from live prey, but being where it is, I'd get it seen &
    treated. Infection between eyes & next to brain is not ideal... (*because you're only seeing pale pinkish tissue & not bleeding) All the best, let us know
    what vet thinks.
