    Question Hairball???

I found what I initially thought was a regurgitation in my couperi's tank, but it was very light and completely dry. It was white and dry... When I broke it open, it's literally completely clean white fur. Basically a long hairball.

I read around that some snakes will poop out hairballs? Or is it being coughed up?

I'd just like to know if hairballs are common and if it's coming out the correct end (the back lol). I've never seen a snake hairball before.

I’ve found poops in my ball pythons cage that were scarcely more than a clump if dried hair before. Sometimes they’re just super efficient and use everything except the keratin components of their prey? I’ve never had a regurge (Knock on wood) but have been told it is an absolutely unmistakable odor

That's what I was going to point out...if it was a regurge, the odor would have gagged you. "Hairballs" are not common but nothing to worry about.

It's so weird! I've never seen my snakes make this kind of hairball before. Or at least not with that particular shape or look. I might mistake them for urates if this one didn't look so funny.

Glad to know it's just really hairy poop LOL

Odyn did this once. I asked the same question. He hasn't done it since.
