what is this? A friend of mine brought him to me he was infested with mites. I know it’s a red tail but what are the visual genetics?

    Re: What is this!?

Really nice looking boa you rescued their.
The gene pool has been seriously muddied over the past decade and a lot of locality boa imperata (bci) have been mixed into lots of different morphs to make designer morphs like the ball python community has too,
So I’m afraid unless you know the lineage of any of the parents it can only be classed as a really nice common boa or boa imperata
    That tail is stunning tho
Hope you manage to clean up the mite problem too

I have a question. From what I’ve been researched that’s a bcc right?

Handsome snake, whatever he is. Mites are a real pain though & he's got some natural speckles to drive you crazy while you try to "clean him up", lol.

Cute boa, looks like a nice light normal Bi (was BCi), probably from a light/high pink/pastel type line. No way to know without the history of the parents. I'm not seeing any morphs though.

Good luck with the mites, they can be a pain.

    no, not at all.
It takes a while to get the hang of it, but look at lots of photos side by side of the diff types and descriptions, it'll start to get easier to tell over time.

No, it’s definitely BCI. The saddles look much different on a BCC.

There's a new "Dav Kaufman " YouTube video on this week talking about the difference between BCI and BCC. It's really great watch

I saw that. It’s good, but O/P, the best advice and descriptions of the different species come from Gus Rentfro and Vincent Russo.

Grab a copy of The Complete Boa Constrictor. It’s a must have book for BC fans.
